IMPROVING ACCESS TO CARE FOR ALL KENTUCKIANS

WHAT IS AIM?

Administrative burdens are not only key contributors to physician dissatisfaction and burnout, but to overall patient health.

“AIM for Better Care: Administrative Improvements in Medicine,” an initiative of the Kentucky Medical Association (KMA), tackles administrative issues, laws, regulations and public perceptions that present barriers to treating five conditions that impact Kentuckians more than the rest of the country: smoking, drug abuse, obesity, diabetes and flu/pneumonia.

Are you a Kentuckian who has struggled to access the health care services or treatments you’ve been prescribed by your doctors? You’re not alone. Across the state, people of all backgrounds are encountering denials, delays and rising out-of-pocket costs as they try to navigate our increasingly complex health care system.

Are you a physician, office manager, health care administrator or other provider who has seen how barriers to care are negatively impacting your patients and the health care system overall? These barriers are not only exacerbating issues like physician dissatisfaction and burnout; they’re also harming patient outcomes.
